Songwriter – Medical Doctor

My Story

I’ve just turned 50 in  October! Wow what an exciting Journey! Born in Bristol, United Kingdom, where my Dad studied as an ophthalmologist and my mum a nurse.

At the age of five years old, I moved back to Nigeria with my parents. Nigeria was a great place to grow up, as discipline was instilled in the children, and we were taught to respect our Elders as well as the fear God – these are great attributes to have.

My father was a disciplinarian, which obviously, at that time, was not appreciated but greatly appreciated for future years.

My mother was the fun-loving person, so between them, they were able to provide the right balance.

I am the eldest of seven and enjoyed growing up with my siblings. These formidable years were great fun, and today we still have a strong bond.

I studied medicine in Nigeria with a lot of encouragement from my parents, especially

my father. He obviously saw potential, and he worked hard at getting me to fulfil that.

He believed I could do it even though I didn’t necessarily have the personal conviction, I would rather just have done fun stuff!

As a visual learner, I enjoyed the practical aspect of medical school, seeing real cases and learning how to manage them live had more of an impact.

I moved back to the UK in 1990 straight after my house Jobs, initially working as a Paediatric doctor for six years, then changed to General practice, where I have worked for the last 15 years.

On a daily basis, it is such a privileged to be able to help people with all aspects of their life. General practice can be so unpredictable as each day, you never know what you will be dealing with.

I pray that daily I can inspire people with what I do and that as I treat them as a doctor, God will also heal them. I’ve been with my husband, George, for 27 years now, and we’ve been blessed with three children Korede, Kemi and Tim. They inspire me daily!

We enjoy travelling and spending quality time together as a family.

I enjoy worship, keeping fit, playing Tennis, reading motivational books, learning the keyboard, eating out, and spending quality time with people.
